Find Your Dancer's Class
A combination dance class, also known as a "combo class," is the perfect choice for dancers of all ages, offering a comprehensive and enriching experience. Specifically tailored to last between 45-60 minutes, this age-specific class provides children with an exceptional foundation and exposure to various dance styles, while creating a positive and supportive environment where your child can develop important skills like coordination, balance and rhythm.
Three levels, grouped by age and experience. Not sure which one fits?
Book a trial in the one closest to their age and we'll move them if it isn't right.
AGES 3-4
Dance Kids
Mondays 5:00-5:45 PM
Thurdays 4:00-4:45 PM
This class is designed to build confidence and independence while giving young dancers a fun and positive introduction to the studio.
AGES 5-6
Kinder Combo
Mondays 4:30-5:30 PM
Thurdays 4:45-5:45 PM
One hour, three styles. Structured enough to build genuine technique and classroom habits, playful enough that it still feels like the best hour of the week. Most dancers here have never taken a class before.
AGES 6-8
Combo I/II
Mondays 5:30-6:30 PM
Ballet, tap, and a touch of jazz, with more structure than Kinder Combo and real technique in each. A good fit for a dancer ready for more, and for a 6, 7, or 8 year old starting dance for the first time.
AGES 8-10
Combo III/IV
Mondays 6:30-7:30 PM
Two styles instead of three, with more time on each. Dancers who want to keep dancing ballet typically take it as its own class, so combo goes deeper rather than broader. A strong entry point if your dancer is starting with us at an older age.

What's the difference between a combo class and a regular dance class?
A regular dance class teaches one style during class. A combo class teaches two or three styles, so a dancer samples several before specializing in any. For a child who has never taken dance, combo is usually the better place to start: it's one class fee instead of three, and it doesn't ask you to guess what they'll love before they've tried anything.
At Creative Dance Workshop, our combo classes for ages 2 to 10 cover a combination of tap, jazz and ballet.

Questions Parents Ask
Most children starting dance for the first time should begin with a combo class, because it introduces several styles at once without requiring a choice up front. At Creative Dance Workshop, that means Dance Kids for ages 2 to 3yrs, Kinder Combo for ages 4 to 6yrs, Combo I/II for ages 6 to 8yrs, and Combo III/IV for ages 8 to about 10 or 11yrs.
Kinder Combo is the right first dance class for a 5 year old. It covers ballet, tap, and creative movement in one hour, runs Mondays and Thursdays in Bow, NH, and is designed for children with no dance experience at all.
No dance experience is required for any combo class. These classes are built for beginners, and most children in Kinder Combo have never taken a dance class before.
All of our recreational dance classes except Combo III/IV teach Ballet, Tap and Jazz. Combo III/IV covers tap and jazz, because dancers at that level who want to continue ballet generally take it as a separate class.
Yes. Many dancers take combo classes for a year or two and then move into ballet, tap, jazz, or hip hop as standalone classes. Switching works in either direction and can happen at the start of any season.
No shoes are needed for a free trial class. Leggings and socks are fine. We advise on exactly what to buy after the trial.
Yes. Creative Dance Workshop is in Bow, NH, a short drive from Concord, and we have families attending from Concord, Dunbarton, Hopkinton, Pembroke, Hooksett and other surround towns.
